General
Nutrition
Without a doubt, your diet has a monumentally larger
effect on your health and physique than your exercise program.
I am NOT a certified nutritionist, by the way. That needs
to be said.
My experience with nutrition started out somewhat
incidentally. I was a biology major in college, and then had
to review general nutrition for my fitness certifications.
When I started teaching, I realized that on almost
a daily basis I was being asked how to lose weight. I
figured I could find a good book to refer my students to when
they asked, but I couldn't find anything that I could really
get behind. I was looking for something short and sweet, something
that gave you the underlying principles of sound nutrition
and at the same time wasn't a bitch to read.
After a whole lot of research and guidance (from
two certified nutritionists, a doctor, and a slew of fitness
professionals), I published a book called Your Fat.
The book is intended to give you the basics of general nutrition
and show how the way you deal with food affects the way your
body utilizes fat.
You can read more about the book here
or on its official
website. |
